Is your organisation engaging with local government?

With the Executive and Assembly on an extended leave of absence, smart organisations are finding other opportunities to promote their objectives, influence policy and connect at a local level.

The Local Government Act 2014 introduced a swathe of new powers for local councils, reflected in community plans, which complement the new outcomes-based approach that has been adopted in the draft Programme for Government (PfG).

Like that PfG, the new legislation places wellbeing at its core. The key aim is to achieve sustainable development by improving the social, economic and environmental wellbeing of the district.

There are significant opportunities for organisations to influence policy and help deliver services outlined in the community plans – they can accompany one’s engagement with the draft PfG.

Stratagem has worked successfully with organisations to develop a local government strategy. We can advise on how to optimise engagement and progress objectives across all 11 councils.
