A Picture of Health? Tackling health inequalities in Northern Ireland

On 13 November 2007 at Ballybeen Women's Centre a ground breaking report on health inequalities in Northern Ireland was launched setting out a challenging agenda for our politicians grappling with tough decisions and limited budgets. Chair of the Health Committee, Iris Robinson MP MLA helped launch the report.

The report – “A Picture of Health – tackling health inequalities in Northern Ireland” - is co-authored by Robin Wilson and Quintin Oliver who mounted four penetrating round-table debates in 2006 involving more than 150 specialists in this field to provide the evidence for the analysis and recommendations presented in the report. The process was fully supported by Pfizer.

CBI / Stratagem: The Economic and Political Aspects of the Northern Ireland Assembly

On 13 September 2007, in the Stormont Hotel, Stratagem and the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) held a briefing seminar on The Economic and Political Aspects of the Northern Ireland Assembly.

A range of leading economic commentators and a blend of politicians entertained a number of business leaders from across Northern Ireland with a discussion on the economic prospects for Northern Ireland and the interface between politics and economics.

Minister for Finance and Personnel, Rt Hon Peter Robinson MP MLA makes the keynote speech at the Stratagem / CBI Seminar.

"I believe that if we are to make economic growth a priority we must do it in word not just in action."

Former Speaker of the Assembly, Lord Alderdice chaired the event.
