Client Profile and Issue
Amey is a strong infrastructure and support services company, owned by Ferrovial of Spain.
Keen to understand the dynamics of the marketplace in Northern Ireland, Amey commissioned Stratagem as its political and public policy advisers.
Our strategy
Stratagem undertook several stakeholder mapping exercises on potential Amey projects, deepening its market knowledge and enabling key decisions to be refined.
As we began to know Amey colleagues better, and acquire a feel for their values and community-centred approach, we felt comfortable making more proactive proposals and pushing the envelope of what was possible. The reaction was always receptive, open to change and eager for intelligence that would assist business development.
Projects on policing, libraries, roads and education were each successfully concluded to mutual benefit and satisfaction.
Outcome
Amey has won significant contracts, not least in education, where a unique social enterprise model has been devised through which to engage local communities, creatively and innovatively; Stratagem is now helping deliver the model on the ground across Belfast.
Stratagem has also been asked to undertake other intelligence-gathering work for Amey across the UK, and other short-term commissions as required.
