Client Profile and Issue
Bowen Construction is one of the largest construction companies in Ireland, with bases in Cork, Dublin, Limerick and Waterford. Ambitious for growth, Bowen wished to develop in the Northern Ireland market.
Our strategy
We felt that market entry strategy was all important here, in the highly competitive construction arena, tightening daily in the economic downturn; we worked with Bowen leaders to understand their values and plans, to match their needs with local opportunities and then to position Bowen as credible players.
Stratagem ran workshops for incoming Bowen personnel, advised on branding, made introductions to key political and policy networks and worked to blend their skills with the market.
A strong Bowen dedication to Corporate Social Responsibility led to early commitments to support Arts and Business and a local conference on CSR itself.
Outcome
Bowen has been selected to construct the pioneering Metropolitan Arts Centre (MAC) in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter, and is well placed in other procurement processes; its credibility as a responsible partner, here for the long term, has been established and its business development and progress is assured.
