Get your Complimentary Stratagem Guide to the EU

After being subjected to two referendums in the Republic of Ireland and being held hostage by a Czech President, the Treaty of Lisbon quietly came into force this week. The big celebrations were held on the day of the Irish 'Yes' vote and then only a few weeks ago the EU unveiled its new President and High Foreign Representative.
For nearly a decade, EU politicians have been wrangling about a new rule book which would equip their Union with the leadership roles that would allow the EU to take its place on the world stage. Whether this will become a reality after the selection of two relatively unknown actors is yet to be seen.
As well as giving Europe a new President and High Foreign Representative, Lisbon has made multiple tweaks and changes to the constitutional and legal Narnia that spans 27 member states
